My last day here

Things have been INSANE around here since Clay and Alex arrived and I haven't had much time to update but I've been having a lot of fun.

Poor Clay has been so sick - vomiting, fever, the whole 9 yards but he seems to feel much better today. I would sure hate for him to be sick on Christmas!

My determination of the Poulnott boys: all 3 are VERY nice! I have loved my time here and I really hope I get to come back next year!

Be safe on your travels tonight and I will see you when you get here tonight!

Cleaning and a sick baby

It has been super busy around here! Zachary's parents have had a lot going on between having family in town, trying to get ready for Christmas and Clay and Alex's arrival, and now little Zachary is sick.

They were gone most of the day so I tried to help with a little cleaning. These poor candles were dusty! When they got home, Zachary was in a good mood and his mom started cleaning Clay and Alex's room.

After dinner, his dad put him to bed with a bottle and he went right to sleep. He wasn't asleep long before he woke up throwing up every where. Poor little guy couldn't stop throwing up and he was choking. His parents got really worried about him and took him to the Emergency Room. When they got home, little Zachary was sleeping and I heard his mom say he has a stomach bug.

I hope he feels better soon - Christmas is only 5 days away!!

8 days to go!

Wow! It's only a week til Christmas! Can you believe that, Santa? How are things going at the workshop? Are you and the reindeer ready for your big night?

Zachary's family sure is getting ready.. The Christmas cards just keep pouring in from all over. Did you know there is a place called Kalamazoo? Of course you did... Silly me! Such a funny name!

Zachary was such a happy boy today! Lots of giggles and playing. It's also unusually warm here in Arkansas now so he even got to play outside for a little bit. That made him REALLY happy! He got to meet his grandma (Curtis' mom), and aunt for the first time today. They thought he was just the sweetest thing ever and he was all smiles for them!

Lindsey seems really busy here lately... She still has so much to do before Clay and Alex come, too. Maybe I can sneak in and wrap a few presents for her tonight... She needs a break! She goes nonstop all day long. I really don't know how she does it!

I had to check out this beautiful green thing today. It houses the remains of Zachary's great-Papaw and is just beautiful. Lindsey is really upset that he never got to meet Zachary... I think he was pretty special to her.

Anyway, that's all for today Santa. I hope you are getting plenty of rest for your big day! Goodnight!

Poor Christmas tree :(

I apologize for not updating you last night, Santa! Poor Zachary wasn't feeling well and was up most of the night so I had a hard time getting away.

I spent most of the day yesterday trying to work on Zachary's Christmas tree while he wasn't looking. It's one f those pre-lit trees and about half the lights aren't working and his parents can't figure it out. They've been trying without any luck so I was trying to help but I'm just not seeing the problem. The top and bottom sections both have lights but not the middle... It's the strangest thing.

Anyway... Zachary had an ok day yesterday but he wanted to be held a lot. He didn't nap much either. Oh but it was his grandpas birthday (Curtis' dad) so he came over for dinner an cake. He turned 79 yesterday! Zachary also helped his Mommy and great-grandma make cookies for Lindsey's dad.

Today was a better day. Zachary slept in and woke up in the best mood. His day was pretty much the same as any other - spent eating, playing and laughing. He is really rolling over now but only to his belly... I heard his mommy say he is stubborn like his daddy!

So far Zachary has been a very nice baby! I agree with Gertrude - babies can't really be intentionally naughty at this age.

Oh! I almost forgot - I also heard his parents say that Clay and Alex will be here next Thursday! I am so excited to meet them!!

Well, Santa, I'm pretty tired. My apologies again for not delivering a report last night! It won't happen again! But before I go, you see that reindeer on sitting with? He sings a song called "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer". Did that really happen, Santa?! I never heard anything of the sort and I've been with you a long time!

Day 3 - Dreary Day

Not much to report on today. Zachary was in a pretty good mood most of the day but he wanted to be held a lot. The weather was also pretty yucky... Rain and fog, mostly and the wind has really picked up tonight. I heard the weatherman say something about a storm rolling in.

This morning, Zachary and Lindsey got up pretty early, played and watched some cartoons, then they took a nap together. When they woke up from their nap, a package had arrived for Zachary. His friend, Annabelle, sent him the cutest little octopus toy... It sings and teaches him numbers and colors. That must be a pretty great friend to send him such a cool toy!

Zachary and his daddy, Curtis, went shopping this afternoon - I think for Lindsey's Christmas gift. While they were gone, Lindsey was really busy making some stockings for the family so I was able to check out the house a little. I decided to hang out in the kitchen for a while... There seems to be a lot that goes on in there!

The rest of the evening was pretty uneventful... Zachary's great-grandma made some fudge and it looks delicious! I'm hoping to my hands on some of it tonight!

Well, good night Santa!

Day 2 - getting to know Zachary

Well today seemed to be a much better day for baby Zachary. He woke up around 8:30 and was all smiles! He had some milk then played in this cool little jumper thing while his mommy cleaned up a little. Then he played in the floor and laughed when his mommy tickled him... He is a very ticklish baby!

All that tickling must have made him tired because he fell asleep right there in the floor so his mommy took a shower (don't worry - his daddy was watching him :) ). When he woke up, he had some more milk and danced to Christmas music with his mommy.

They must have had some errands to run today because everyone got dressed and left so I took some time to check out the house and play a little Xbox while no one was home.

When they got home, Zachary was asleep and I heard his mommy say he had been asleep the whole time thy were gone... He must have been a tired little boy! When he woke up, he ate again (little piggy!) and played in the floor with his daddy while his mommy (her name is Lindsey, by the way) cooked dinner. Zachary's friend Hunter came over to play and my goodness, he is a big boy! Apparently he is only a couple months older than Zachary but Zachary looks so tiny compared to him!

After some playtime, baby Hunter went home and Zachary had some more milk and went to sleep. He is such a good baby!

Oh and you should see the creations Lindsey comes up with. She made Zachary the most adorable little snowman shirt and she's working in some new stockings for the family. I can't wait to see how those turn out! You should really think about hiring her to work in the shop... I know she's not an elf but I think you would be pleased with her work!

Well that's all for today... I really love it here in Arkansas, Santa!

- Bernard

PS - why didn't you send a scout elf to baby Hunter's house this year? I overheard his mom talking to Lindsey about how they didn't get an elf to watch over Hunter and his sister Harlee. Maybe next year!

I made it!

Wow, what a trip!

I finally made it to Searcy about 5pm today and I have to say, this is a very cozy little house, you've sent me to! Zachary is such an adorable little baby and his mom and dad were so nice to me!

I didn't get to do too much today... apparently Zachary was having a very rough day. His mom spent most of the evening trying to keep him happy while his dad cooked dinner. She fed him some cereal and gave him a bath and he seemed to really like that! After his bath and some playtime, she fed him some milk and he fell asleep but I guess his tummy was hurting because the poor little guy threw it all back up all over him and his mommy. Then he did it again while she was trying to eat the yummy smelling dinner his daddy made for them. His parents seemed really worried about him but he was all smiles after that second time.

Zachary and his mom laid on the couch and read a book and he finally fell asleep on her. He woke up again and had some milk then went back to bed.... such a sweet little boy. I hope he's happier tomorrow.

Zachary's mom has this little table set up with a tiny house, a super soft blanket of snow and a very pretty Christmas tree. It's just the perfect size for me. I hope you don't mind if I use it while I'm here.

I am very excited to get to know this family, Santa. Thank you for sending me here! I'm still trying to find out when Clay and Alex will be here. Soon, I hope.

Headed to Searcy, AR

I was called into Santa's office yesterday and boy was I scared! I don't know why - I haven't done anything wrong but I was still nervous!

It turns out he has a very special assignment for me. The kind of special assignment that only very well trained elves get to go on! That just made me even more nervous because I knew I couldn't let Santa down!

He told me there is a very special baby boy named Zachary who lives in a small town called Searcy, AR with his mommy and daddy. Their names are Lindsey and Curtis. He also has 2 older brothers named Clay and Alex that live with their mom in another town. Santa says they will be with Zachary for Christmas though and I am excited to meet them, too!

My assignment is to go to Searcy to Zachary's house to keep an eye on him (and his brothers, when they come). Since Santa is SO busy with Christmas only a month away, he needs my help to know if Zachary, Clay and Alex belong on the nice list or the naughty list.

So, here I am on my last night at the North Pole. I'm packing my bag and saying goodbye to all my friends. I will be leaving first thing in the morning but I don't really know how long it will take me to get to Zachary's house. I hope not long... It sure is cold outside! Maybe Zachary's mommy and daddy will make me some hot cocoa when I get there!

Oh man, I sure am nervous! I've never been away from the North Pole. I sure will miss the toy shop, the reindeer and all my friends but I am so excited to meet Zachary and his mommy and daddy... I hope they are nice people!

I'll be sure to update when I arrive in Searcy!
